As a high school senior I am preparing for graduation and beginning the process of finding out what I want to do with my life. I enjoy painting, singing, history, photography and, overall, creating beautiful things, but when I was asked what career I thought I'd be successful in, I chose photography. During the final months of my junior year, at the beginning of 2016, I applied for Honors Mentorship(a program at school). Thanks to my experience in Honors Mentorship, I am confident that I want to be some kind of photographer when I graduate high school.
When I applied to Honors Mentorship I decided to go into the photography field. I am currently working with Logan Simmons, who is a well-known photographer in my community. She has taught me about the logistics of a camera and owning a photography business. I first bought a camera at the end of 2012, when I was 13. I have had that camera for five years, and up until I met Logan I had basically taught myself everything I know. Before Honors Mentorship I had already had 32 photography gigs. The photo sessions I had held were mostly for family and church friends, but thanks to Honors Mentorship, I have been able to book with peers from school, and broaden my client audience.
